Dr. Shawna Lehmann is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist in the state of Texas. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Redlands in Southern California. She went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree at Marshall B. Ketchum University. During her education, Dr. Lehmann conducted research for the National Eye Institute at the University of Houston College of Optometry. During her research, she was introduced to the Hill Country of Texas and fell in love with the region. It took a few years, but she relocated with her family as soon as she could! Dr. Lehmann is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Honor Society, a lifetime member of the Omega Delta Optometric Fraternity, and a member of the Ocular Wellness and Nutrition Society. Dr. Lehmann has a special interest in nutrition and its role in maintaining eye health and preventing eye disease. She loves to spread the word on the importance of UV protective eye wear and the effects of good nutrition on ocular health. Dr. Lehmann has over 19 years experience in caring for patients and treating conditions such as diabetic eye disease, cataracts, eye infections, glaucoma, styes, dry eye, inflammation of the eye, and retinal conditions, including macular degeneration. She enjoys getting to know her patients and caring for all of their eye wear and eye care needs. Dr. Lehmann and her husband, Peter, are raising four sons, four very energetic and curious sons. As a family, they enjoy movies, exploring and traveling, and spending time on the river.
